When exploring new cities, we always enjoy strolling the streets and window shopping. The first couple of photos show unique purses. Japanese people are very detail oriented and take a lot of pride in presentation. The next two photos show bakery creations. We passed many windows that were similar.

Across from the Tokyo Temple there is a lovely park.
Our friend, Paul Longo, joined us on our trip and served as our knowledgable tour guide. He spent a few years living in Tokyo when stationed at Yokota Air Base.
Above and below we are in the midst of Shibuya Shopping District.
Here is a statue of Hachi, the loyal dog who waited for his master's return for ten years,
before also dying.
We've only seen pink-polka dotted backhoes in Japan.
400 foot high Torii gate at the entrance to a 200 acre park which houses Meiji Shrine.
Meiji Shrine is Tokyo's most famous Shinto shrine dedicated to the late Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoko. The Emperor ruled from 1867 to 1912 and oversaw rapid and powerful changes in Japan.
In case you were wondering......
these western toilets necessitate instructions. Many public toilets are holes in the ground to be used by squatting. These "thrones" can be confusing.
Harajuko Girls!
The Tokyo Skytree is the tallest building in the biggest city in the world. At 2080 feet, it is also the second tallest tower worldwide. Below are views from the near top on the observation deck.

A common lunch consists of udon noodles and tempura. Here was have chicken and shrimp, but there's a vast list of things they batter with tempura.
It was cherry blossom season here in April. We celebrated it in January in Okinawa.
The girls were delighted to do a little Claire's shopping.
