School Girl

Here is Annie excited and headed out to school.

Here is a poem the thoughtful teacher gave to the parents:

The First Day
I gave you a little wink and smile
As you came in my room today
For I know it's hard to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with her for five years now
And have been a loving guide
But now alas, the time has come
To leave her at my side.
As a teacher I too know
How quickly the years do pass
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks do flow
I'll love her as I do my own
And help her learn and grow
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love her and take her in
When you leave her at my door.

This second picture shows Annie in the line up of kids waiting for parent pick up. It seemed like the families of the entire student body were there. We are reconsidering the bus. It stops in front of our house and beats us home.

I'm really sorry that school starts so early. She looks so grown up!
