Remembering the Alamo

Now that we are so far removed from it, let us take time to truly remember the Alamo. As we review the year, I will share a few highlights as captured by my camera. Here is when I took the girls downtown to celebrate the annual "Remembering the Alamo" event hosted by the San Antonio Living History Organization. The legendary battle took place in 1836 over thirteen days, and the re-enactment is of the final two days. Even though precious lives and the battle were lost, time was given to Sam Houston to prepare for a successful battle in obtaining Texas independence from Mexico.
