Where did the past month go? Finally, here is Elena's birthday celebration. She wasn't feeling well, as illustrated in a few pics above. Maybe we should celebrate again tomorrow. It's a good thing she has two older sisters very willing to help unwrap gifts and eat birthday cake. Elena wasn't excited about eating the cake, but I think she liked the ice cream. Anneliese and Abigail decorated the cake, mostly. It was a chocolate cake baked in a house pan. This will now be our official holiday "gingerbread house" routine. It's cute, easier and more enjoyably edible.

I miss attending your perfect parties, Suzanne! The cake looks cute AND really edible. I can't believe Elena is a one-year-old! We'll have to get reacquainted.
